Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Monitor, assess, and respond to cardiac arrhythmias and other medical conditions, including chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, pneumonia, GI issues, COPD, diabetes, stroke, and post-surgical recovery.
• Float to other units and hospitals as needed, providing flexible coverage for various patient care needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote patient recovery and optimal outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions and care details accurately in the electronic medical record (Meditech).

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Alabama or a compact state license (no temporary licenses accepted).
• Associate degree in nursing (RN).
• BLS or Red Cross healthcare provider certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing, or 18 months of professional nursing under a high-level license with at least 1 year in the specialty.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working with cardiac telemetry patients.
• Ability to adapt quickly to float responsibilities across different units.

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with flexibility for weekends and holidays as required.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week.
