Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement individualized care plans for emergency room patients using the nursing process.
• Prioritize patient needs and utilize critical thinking skills to make prompt decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure compliance with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation protocols.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver quality patient outcomes, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Educate patients and families tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Delegate patient care tasks appropriately and precept new staff and student nurses.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or a Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 90 days if not already held).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (must be obtained within 6 months if not already held).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification (must be obtained within 1 year if not already held).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (must be obtained within 1 year if not already held).
• STABLE certification (must be obtained within 1 year if not already held).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (must be obtained within 1 year if not already held).
• Must pass background and pre-employment drug screenings.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of two (2) years hospital nursing experience.
• One (1) year of Emergency Department or Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
