Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Physical Therapist in directing, modifying, and administering physical therapy treatments and modalities.
  • Administer treatments and physical agents as directed by the Physical Therapist following patient evaluation.
  • Support patient recovery and help restore functioning to prevent disability after injury or disease.
  • Collaborate with patients across all age groups, from infants to geriatrics, to achieve maximum performance and functional ability.
  • Participate in departmental operational, performance improvement, infection control, equipment training, and safety activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy assistant program (usually a 2-year degree).
  • Current licensure in good standing as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Alaska or appropriate FSBPT paperwork for student registration post-graduation.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience in a physical therapy setting is desirable but not required.
