Key Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care to surgical patients in the operating room, following the nursing process and standards of practice.
• Assess patient conditions, administer medications and treatments, and monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pre- and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
• Manage complex clinical situations independently, with ability to delegate as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification from AHA
• ACLS certification from AHA
• RN license in the state of employment or applicable compact state
• 1+ year of nursing experience preferred

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in surgical or operating room nursing
• Ability to handle long-range planning and contingency management
• Strong patient education skills
