Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a 15-bed unit.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, perform fingerstick blood sugars, and manage patient assessments.
- Utilize medical equipment such as BIPAP, continuous cardiac monitors, and medication dispensing systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech charting.
- Floats to various acute care units including medical, surgical/peds, ICU, and ER as needed.
- Follow assigned shift schedule, typically 12-hour shifts, with no guaranteed hours outside scheduled hours.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Hawaii nursing license (must be obtained prior to start for travelers not currently licensed in HI).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience.
- Experience in telemetry and cardiac patient care preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- PALS certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- Previous experience in progressive care or stepdown units.
