Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a 15-bed unit.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, perform fingerstick blood sugars, and manage patient assessments.
• Utilize medical equipment such as BIPAP, continuous cardiac monitors, and medication dispensing systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech charting.
• Floats to various acute care units including medical, surgical/peds, ICU, and ER as needed.
• Follow assigned shift schedule, typically 12-hour shifts, with no guaranteed hours outside scheduled hours.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Hawaii nursing license (must be obtained prior to start for travelers not currently licensed in HI).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience.
• Experience in telemetry and cardiac patient care preferred.
• Current BLS certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• Previous experience in progressive care or stepdown units.
