Registered Nurse CVICU

Job Title

• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CVICU)

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend, holidays as scheduled, no on-call

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced patient care in the CVICU, including management of dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery, and ventilated patients
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data such as ABGs, pulmonary artery lines, and intra-aortic balloon pumps
• Administer medications, including continuous IV drips, vasoactives, paralytics, and emergency medications
• Manage invasive procedures such as arterial line care, CVVHD/CRRT, and central line management
• Assist with the care of patients with LVAD/RVAD, ECMO, and other advanced cardiac interventions
• Follow infection prevention protocols and ensure compliance with PPE and isolation precautions

Required Qualifications

• Active IL Registered Nurse license
• CPR, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Epic electronic health records experience
• Ability to pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or above

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior charge nurse experience in CVICU
• Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, or post-cardiac surgery care
