Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on correctional oncology units, including Medical-Surgical (MS) and Progressive Care Units (PCU).
• Float to various units as needed, ensuring staff and patient safety in a secure correctional environment.
• Administer medications and manage treatments using systems such as Pyxis and EPIC.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage oncology and non-oncology diagnoses, and respond to emergency situations.
• Support interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and respiratory services.
• Adhere to safety protocols and comply with correctional facility policies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Ohio or compact state nursing license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Experience with EPIC charting.
• Basic knowledge of medication administration systems such as Pyxis.
• Ability to interpret cardiac telemetry and manage emergency responses.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in a correctional healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with medication protocols including Heparin and PCA.
• Experience with respiratory management tools including CPAP/BIPAP and ABGs.
