Job Title

• Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Med Surg RN)

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts, 3x12 hours

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to adult medical-surgical units, including monitoring and managing patient conditions.
• Float within scope to assist other Med Surg and related units as needed.
• Perform telemetry and remote patient monitoring, responding to rapid response alerts.
• Administer medications, including IV therapy, blood products, and cardiovascular medications.
• Manage post-procedure care such as post-angiogram, post-MI, and other cardiovascular cases.
• Ensure adherence to infection control, wound care, and isolation protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience.
• BLS and NIH certifications.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as scheduled.
• Active license and credentials to practice in Illinois.
• Comfortable floating within scope and working major holidays.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry and remote monitoring experience.
• Cardiac care, including post-angiogram and post-MI.
• Endocrine/metabolic management, including IV insulin protocols.
• Gastrointestinal management such as colostomy and feeding tubes.
• Renal case experience, including dialysis management.
• Proficient in IV therapy, blood draws, and medication administration.
• Experience with CVA, neuro, ortho trauma, or respiratory cases.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system and Level I trauma environment.
