Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for laboring mothers and neonates in a high-acuity obstetrics unit.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, responding to any emergency situations such as shoulder dystocia or postpartum hemorrhage.
• Support labor progression, assist with delivery procedures including C-sections, and provide postpartum and neonatal care.
• Assess and stabilize newborns, transition care from delivery to postpartum, and monitor mother recovery.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech and CPN systems, and perform daily safety rounding.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Tennessee.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience.
• Certificates: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training.
• Experience with fetal monitoring, inductions (Pitocin, Cervidil), and OB emergencies.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and neonatal emergencies.
• Strong assessment skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with seasoned RN colleagues; previous experience working in a Level II NICU is a plus.

Additional Details

• Duration: 13 weeks, starting 05/04/2026.
• Schedule: 3 nights per week, 12-hour night shifts, rotating weekends and holidays.
• Facility staffed with six highly experienced RN’s, each with approximately 30 years of experience, serving as excellent resources and preceptors.
• Unit features state-of-the-art equipment including fetal monitoring systems, infant warmers, and telemedicine technology.
• Uniform: Pink and/or brown scrubs per infant security policy.
