Contract | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a MedSurg unit serving patients with diagnoses including respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wound care, IV antibiotic therapy, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac conditions

• Perform and manage PEG tube care and feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage and maintenance, and tracheostomy patient care

• Titrate drips, including Heparin, in accordance with physician orders and unit protocols

• Collaborate with respiratory therapy staff on ventilator, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment; troubleshoot as needed

• Monitor telemetry in coordination with monitor technicians stationed in the ICU; read and respond to telemetry strips as required

• Float to ICU or Acute Rehabilitation units as needed based on staffing and qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated

• Current BLS certification

• Demonstrated experience with PEG tube care, CVC/PICC/Midline management, and tracheostomy care

• Ability to titrate IV drips independently

• Compliance with a drug-free workplace policy, including a negative drug screen for all panels

• Availability for weekend rotation (every other weekend and to fill scheduling gaps) and holiday rotation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification (preferred but not required)

• Prior experience in a MedSurg, LTAC, or step-down unit setting

• Familiarity with housewide telemetry monitoring systems
