Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Trauma (Nights)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Onsite | Travel Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to an acute care trauma and surgical patient population, including ortho and urology patients, with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including family practice physicians, hospitalists, and a variety of surgical specialists to address each patient's individualized needs

• Monitor and manage telemetry patients, applying specialized knowledge in trauma nursing

• Care for patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, testing, and observation, ensuring individualized attention throughout their stay

• Participate in holiday coverage as required and rotate every other weekend

• Float to other units and facilities as needed

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS

• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification

• Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional licensure, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry

• Proficiency or ability to work with the Meditech EMR system

• Willingness to float to other units and hospital locations as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of experience in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry or Trauma Surgical setting

• Experience caring for orthopedic and urology patient populations

• Familiarity with an interdisciplinary team-based care model in an acute care environment
