Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients from admission through discharge, including discharge planning, across a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, and sepsis
- Operate advanced medical equipment including arterial lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, multiple IV pumps, and support patients requiring noninvasive and invasive ventilatory support
- Perform skilled cardiac telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation, and manage common IV medications including Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including providers, charge nurses, LPNs, CNAs, and ancillary staff to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
- Act as a clinical leader, assist with precepting staff, and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
- Complement the Medical Surgical unit when staffing needs require, providing care across a broad scope of patient populations including pediatrics and pre/post procedural cardiac patients
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Montana RN Licensure (or ability to obtain)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Ability to operate advanced medical equipment including A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support devices
- Proficiency in basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation
- Knowledge of advanced nursing principles and procedures
- Ability to assess patient conditions and implement care plans with minimal supervision
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPNC and/or TNCC certification preferred
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred
- Experience in post-heart catheterization care preferred
