Key Responsibilities
- Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing, and related imaging techniques to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners.
- Verifies patient orders, identity, and clinical history prior to procedures; continuously monitors patients throughout exams and documents all relevant patient care information in the electronic health record.
- Assists radiologists and authorized providers during invasive procedures, including performing and documenting time-out procedures and peripheral venipuncture as required.
- Applies radiation protection principles and ALARA guidelines for all exams to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Coordinates daily patient flow with transport and nursing units; assists with establishing imaging protocols and training new employees on equipment and exam procedures.
- Provides supervision and instruction to imaging students during clinical rotations and stays current on regulatory standards and continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program.
- Current ARRT Registry in Radiography RT(R).
- Current state-issued Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of mammography diagnostic experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail and customer service abilities.
