Key Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing, and related imaging techniques to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners.
• Verifies patient orders, identity, and history prior to procedures; performs and documents peripheral venipuncture as needed and completes time-out procedures for all invasive exams.
• Continuously monitors patients throughout exams, documents all patient care incidents in the electronic health record, and coordinates with transport and nursing units for patient flow.
• Assists radiologists and authorized providers with exams and helps establish and maintain imaging protocols.
• Participates in training new employees on equipment functionality, exam protocols, and modifications; provides supervision and instruction to imaging students during clinical rotations.
• Applies radiation protection principles including ALARA for all procedures and stays current on regulatory standards and changes.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program.
• Current ARRT Registry in Radiography RT(R).
• Current Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy state radiation license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of one (1) year of diagnostic radiography experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail and customer service abilities.
