Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-Hour Shifts) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level 3 or Level 4 NICU setting, including critically ill and premature infants from 22 weeks gestational age and above
• Manage ventilators, RAM CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and central lines for critical neonatal patients
• Maintain patient ratios appropriate to acuity: 1:1 for critical patients, 1:2 for intensive care, and 1:3–4 for grower/feeder patients
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment with up to five admissions per day and assignments that may change throughout the shift
• Float as needed to Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, or a nearby Special Care Nursery
• Adhere to a 30-minute required lunch break and participate in an 8-hour unit orientation upon start

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current CPR certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Minimum Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience required
• Demonstrated ability to manage vents, RAM CPAP, and high-flow oxygen in a neonatal population

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Registered Nurse Certified (RNC) in neonatal nursing
• Experience caring for critically ill neonates including premature infants with extended stays ranging from a few days to several months
• Comfort with central line management in a neonatal setting
