Registered Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Contract | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-Hour Shifts) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level 3 or Level 4 NICU setting, including critically ill and premature infants from 22 weeks gestational age and above
- Manage ventilators, RAM CPAP, and high-flow oxygen delivery systems for critically ill neonates
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:1 for critical patients, 1:2 for intensive care patients, and 1:3–4 for grower/feeder patients
- Respond to a fast-paced environment with up to 5 admissions per day; adapt to changing patient assignments throughout the shift
- Float as needed to Mother-Baby, Pediatrics, and Special Care Nursery at an additional facility
- Adhere to a 30-minute required lunch break and participate in an 8-hour unit orientation upon start
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Minimum Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience required
- Ability to manage vents and RAM CPAP independently
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Registered Nurse Certified (RNC) – Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing credential preferred
- Experience with central lines and high-flow oxygen therapy in a neonatal setting
- Prior travel nursing experience in a high-acuity NICU environment
