Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Medical/Surgical floor serving a complex patient population including surgical, trauma, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
- Maintain a patient ratio of 5:1 with support from nursing support technicians and phlebotomists
- Collaborate with ED nurses and admitting staff to complete structured nurse handoffs upon patient admission
- Utilize the EPIC electronic health record system to document and manage patient care
- Work alongside unit secretarial support during night hours and coordinate with interdisciplinary team members
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- Ability to work assigned shifts; no block scheduling available and no time-off requests honored
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Prior experience caring for trauma, surgical, or spinal cord injury patient populations
