Key Responsibilities
- Work within a high-volume Emergency Department, including the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage
- Read and interpret telemetry monitors in accordance with department standards
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner electronic health record system
- Adhere to patient experience standards including AIDET communication framework, keeping patient boards updated, and providing respectful, culturally sensitive care
- Float to all sections within the ED as needed to meet departmental staffing requirements
- Work every other weekend and maintain scheduling flexibility to meet department needs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume Emergency Department (100,000+ annual visits)
- At least 1 year of experience in an Emergency Room setting
- Must be able to pass a telemetry competency exam
- Active ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Navy scrubs required as dress code
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience with HCA-affiliated facilities
- Demonstrated ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback in a fast-paced environment
- Experience operating Baxter pumps and GE monitoring equipment
