Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; round with physicians and follow up on orders.
• Supervise dialysis of chronic renal failure patients and oversee dialysis technicians during daily duties.
• Establish and maintain individualized plans of care, coordinating goals with physicians, social workers, dietitians, and other staff.
• Monitor patients and equipment throughout dialysis; ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and stocking of supplies and equipment.
• Educate patients on self-care, dietary and fluid management, medications, vascular access, and dialysis principles to prevent complications between treatments.
• Supervise recognition and management of emergencies, ensuring emergency equipment is available and immediate care is provided.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Utah.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, social workers, and dietitians.
• Strong knowledge of dialysis procedures, equipment operation, and patient monitoring.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of six months of experience in a chronic dialysis facility.
• Familiarity with patient education related to chronic renal failure, dialysis principles, and vascular access maintenance.
