Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | 3 Weekend Shifts per 4-Week Period | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse patient population with diagnoses including COPD, diabetes, CHF, end-stage renal disease, GI disorders, infections, neurological conditions, and mental health disorders
• Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and communicate effectively within an inter-professional teamManage and monitor IV therapy, heparin and insulin drips, wound vacs, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and feeding pumps
• Utilize electronic health records (Epic), Pyxis, Accucheck, Hospira IV pumps, telemetry monitoring, and SCDs for VTE prevention
• Support patients undergoing procedures such as colonoscopies, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and minor surgeries
• Float to other medical units as needed; maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care experience
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical experience at a large hospital (600+ beds)
• Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license (effective 7/1/20 or later)
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and management of complex drips in a high-acuity medical-surgical environment
• Familiarity with care of patients undergoing GI, neurological, or surgical procedures
