Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the sterile field; pass instruments and sutures to the physician and assist as directed during surgical procedures.
• Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case using physician preference cards.
• Prepare patient skin for surgery, position patients according to procedure type, and transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite.
• Monitor and control the surgical environment, including traffic control, dress codes, and adherence to OR sanitation policies.
• Identify and care for biological specimens and adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions in all patient care situations.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment across multiple specialty areas.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential or active LVN/LPN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association only).
• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Robotic surgical experience highly preferred.
• Ability to proficiently scrub a minimum of 3 specialty areas, such as Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, or Robotics.
• Experience working with both adult and pediatric patient populations.
