Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit setting, managing complex and high-acuity patients
• Perform and manage CRRT, BiPAP, chest tubes, and PICC lines independently without vascular access team support
• Draw own labs, call on own consults, and independently conduct codes
• Provide post-open heart surgical care including management of pacer wires from day one
• Float as needed to ICU and inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED based on prior experience
• Document and manage patient care using the EPIC electronic medical records system

Required Qualifications

• Active Kansas RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care or Intensive Care Unit
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
• Demonstrated experience with CRRT, BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and open heart care including pacer wires
• Ability and comfort level to independently conduct codes and call consults
• New graduates will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience floating to ED, Med/Surg, Med/Tele, and Acute/Tele units
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Experience in a high-acuity stepdown or PCU environment with minimal supervision
