Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients including premature infants as early as 22 weeks gestational age and all types of surgical infants
• Manage and monitor patients on ventilators including Servo Vents, HFOV, BCPAP, and Ram NC, as well as specialized equipment such as Tecotherm and Baby Leo/Giraffe warmers
• Perform and assist with special procedures including Therapeutic Hypothermia, Nitric Oxide therapy, UAC/UVC line care, Broviac, Trachs, GTT, and Ostomy care
• Operate unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC, Alaris IV pumps, and Med Fusion for feedings; document using SBAR and 4P frameworks
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2–4 and participate in self-scheduling per unit needs, including required weekend rotations
• Float as needed to Peds, PICU, or Nursery settings caring for infants up to and including 12 months of age

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience in a Level 3 or Level 4 ICN
• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Hands-on ventilator experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) and specialized neonatal respiratory support modalities
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
• Experience with complex neonatal surgical patient populations and associated procedures
