• Physical Therapy Assistant
Location
• Santa Maria, CA
Schedule / Job Type
• 5 days per week, Days shift, 8 hours per shift, Skilled/LTC setting
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate, plan, and administer therapeutic treatments to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities
• Provide physical therapy interventions following established care plans under supervision of licensed Physical Therapists
• Record treatments administered and monitor patient progress in medical records
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and progress
• Ensure all treatments are delivered in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist
• Empathy, patience, and physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior experience working in skilled nursing or long-term care settings (not mandatory)
• Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
