Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries, including CABG, carotids, valve replacement, and endarterectomies.
- Assist with endovascular interventions, AAA repairs, VATS, and sternal repairs in a CVOR setting.
- Scrub for appropriate procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and staff to ensure efficient case flow, averaging 3-6 CV-specific cases daily.
- Maintain documentation and communication within the electronic medical record system using EPIC.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license.
- BLS certification.
- CVOR experience is required.
- Ability to scrub surgical procedures.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with a high-volume cardiovascular operating room.
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR systems.
- Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes.
- Flexibility with morning start times, including some 6:00 AM shifts.
