Contract | Travel | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 Hours/Week | 13-Week Assignment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Cardiovascular ICU setting with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity)
• Titrate vesicant medications and manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics for critically ill cardiovascular patients
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment including ventilators, IABP, CRRT, Impella, telemetry, and hypothermia devices
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation, transvenous pacing, and cardioversion
• Document patient care accurately using the Cerner electronic health record system
• Float to other areas of the facility as required per traveler floating policy and participate in alternating weekend scheduling

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Proficiency in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Experience with mechanical ventilators and tracheostomy care
• Competency in telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Familiarity with procedures performed on unit including cardioversion, central line insertion, chest tube maintenance, bronchoscopy, EGD, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT
• CCRN certification or IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation system
• Experience with TEE and transvenous pacing
