Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and procedural trays, including those for outlying offices
• Operate and maintain sterile processing equipment including washers and steam autoclaves, keeping diligent records of loads, items, and maintenance procedures
• Inspect instruments to verify they are in good working order prior to tray assembly and report any issues to a supervisor
• Verify and accurately document missing instruments according to standard operating procedures
• Communicate effectively with operating room personnel and other departments
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and make recommendations to management for process improvements

Required Qualifications

• Active Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) license required
• Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required upon hire
• Working knowledge of sterile processing equipment including washers and autoclaves
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and power equipment
• Ability to accurately record sterilizer test results and maintain detailed documentation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Sterile Processing or Surgical Services department
• Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and competency in sterile processing practices
