Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations, develop individualized plans of care, and conduct reassessments for acute care patients across units including ER, ICU, Medical-Surgical, and Orthopedics
• Implement therapeutic interventions including gait training, AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, and post-surgical rehabilitation (e.g., total hip/knee replacement, post-stroke)
• Provide patient and family education including home exercise programs, body mechanics, and safe use of assistive devices such as walkers, gait belts, and crutches
• Assist with lifting, transfers, and mobility activities while monitoring vital signs, pain assessment, and skin integrity
• Establish short-term goals and discharge plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Float between facilities within the state as needed per assignment requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active California Physical Therapist license (must be in hand prior to start)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience
• Proficiency with acute care settings and associated patient populations (geriatrics, cardiac, orthopedic, neurological)
• Experience with Epic electronic health records charting system
• Must disclose any license or background hits at time of submission; no open license hits will be approved

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing patients with COPD, CHF, CABG, or myocardial infarction in an acute care environment
• Familiarity with hip fractures, knee injuries/tendinopathy, and post-stroke rehabilitation protocols
• Experience working across multiple acute care units including ICU and ER settings
