Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity Labor and Delivery nursing care in a high-volume unit averaging 500–600 deliveries per month across 31 beds
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum, including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
- Circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections and other obstetric surgical procedures across 4 ORs
- Administer and monitor high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC documentation systems in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines
- Float to postpartum and antepartum units, including sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license accepted
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-volume environment, with high-risk experience required
- Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR for obstetric procedures
- Competency in newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K (thigh) injections, and newborn assessments
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
- Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Experience caring for midwifery clients, high-risk OB patients, and patients supported through substance recovery programs
