Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum, including newborn assessments, eye prophylaxis, and Vitamin K injections
- Circulate in the operating room during cesarean sections and other surgical deliveries across 4 ORs
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Perform electronic fetal monitoring and document accurately using EPIC
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units as needed, with potential float to sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby care
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license accepted
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, with high-risk experience required
- Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR setting
- Demonstrated ability to perform newborn care including newborn assessments, eye prophylaxis, and Vitamin K (thigh) injections
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings
