Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity PCU/MedSurg unit serving cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology patient populations
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines; administer blood products
• Care for post-cardiac surgery patients including those following CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS procedures
• Float within scope to meet facility needs across unit acuity levels, including MedSurg, Progressive, and ICU settings
• Utilize telemetry monitoring and document care using electronic health record systems

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license or pending licensure; must obtain Indiana, compact, and/or temporary license prior to start date
• Minimum 18 months of RN experience
• Current ACLS and BLS/BCLS certifications required
• Demonstrated competency with arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with post-cardiac surgery care and transcatheter valve procedures (TAVI/TAVR)
• Must be available to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification preferred
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD/Impella), pre/post cardiac catheterization care, and sheath removal
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing ventilators
• Previous charge nurse experience
