Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Title

• Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown

Location

• Chattanooga, TN

Schedule / Job Type

• 13-week travel assignment
• Night shifts, 12 hours per shift
• 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care to cardiac stepdown patients, including bedside assessments and monitoring.
• Manage and administer medications, including Heparin, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Amiodarone drips.
• Perform procedures such as chest tube management, wound vac management, and EKG monitoring.
• Document telemetry application and rhythm strips, ensuring proper recording each shift.
• Conduct bedside and hourly rounding, communicating patient needs to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or appropriate state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Knowledge of cardiac medications, drips, and telemetry monitoring.
• Experience with chest tube management, wound vacs, and EKGs.
• Ability to work nights and adapt to flexible, rotating assignments.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a cardiac stepdown or telemetry unit.
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic documentation system.
• Knowledge of multi-system patient care, including orthopedics, surgical, and progressive care units.
