Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an Adult Day Surgery unit, including PreOp, Post-Op, and PreAdmit Testing (PAT) areas
- Perform IV starts and pre-operative assessments for patients undergoing General Surgery, Gynecology, and Orthopedic Scope procedures
- Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Float between PreOp, Post-Op, and PreAdmit Testing areas as unit needs require
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, PCTs, and OR staff to ensure safe patient throughput
- Adhere to unit scheduling requirements, including a minimum of two Mondays and two Fridays per schedule period, and availability during inclement weather
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of PreOp, Day Surgery, or PAT nursing experience
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR
- Demonstrated competency with IV starts
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- PreAdmit Testing (PAT) experience
- Experience caring for both adult and pediatric surgical patients
- Flexible, team-oriented personality with strong interpersonal communication skills
