Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 or 48 Hours per Week Available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced Medical Surgical and Telemetry unit serving orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patient populations
• Manage pain effectively for orthopedic and spine patients, staying proactive with pain management protocols
• Perform IV starts and monitor telemetry as part of routine patient care
• Maintain patient-to-nurse ratios typically at 5–6:1, with flexibility required during high-census periods
• Float to other Medical Surgical units within the facility as needed to meet staffing demands
• Work every other weekend, with required make-up of any weekend call-offs on a subsequent weekend

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience with demonstrated orthopedic nursing experience required
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Current BCLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification
• Charge Nurse experience
• Level I Trauma experience
• Epic EMR experience (required for first-time travelers)
