Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available | 13-week, 18-week, or 20-week contract options
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medical and radiation oncology patients, including hematology and sickle cell populations, on a 35-bed mixed-acuity unit serving both Med-Surg and Advanced Care patients
- Administer blood products, chemotherapy (with ONS Certification), drips, and PCAs, and manage wound care and other clinical skills as required
- Monitor and interpret EKG/telemetry strips and respond appropriately to cardiac changes
- Maintain patient ratios targeting 1:4, with the ability to manage up to 1:5–6 as needed
- Float to all Stepdown and Advanced Care units, including high-risk respiratory units, as assigned
- Document all patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (any active state license or compact license accepted; no past license disciplinary actions)
- Minimum 1.5 years of Registered Nurse experience
- Stepdown (SD) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required; ICU experience does not substitute for SD/PCU experience
- Demonstrated 1:5 ratio experience in SD or PCU must be reflected in work history
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Must pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to assignment start
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday
- Must be comfortable floating within and between nearby campuses with no restrictions
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certification preferred
- Sickle cell patient care experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Some Level 1 or Level 2 trauma or acuity experience preferred
