Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care to a diverse patient population including cerebrovascular accident (CVA), transient ischemic attack (TIA), seizures, and general neuroscience patients.
• Manage high-risk respiratory patients, including those requiring heated high-flow oxygen and BiPAP support; ventilator experience is essential.
• Participate in team nursing and/or primary nursing models, partnering with LPNs and PCTs to divide workload and optimize patient care across a 36-bed unit.
• Monitor and respond to cardiac telemetry, applying EKG/dysrhythmia competency in daily patient management.
• Float within the facility or to nearby campus locations based on census and unit needs, including high-risk respiratory and neuro ICU settings.
• Accurately document all patient care activities using the Epic electronic health record system.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (any active state license or compact license accepted); no past license disciplinary actions.
• Demonstrated Step-Down or PCU experience with a 1:5 patient ratio reflected in work history — ICU experience alone does not satisfy this requirement.
• Ventilator experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Must pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to assignment start; lab work and EKG exam must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• IV start certification preferred.
• Comfort with floating to varied units, including neuro ICU and high-risk respiratory settings, based on skill set and census needs.
