Contract (Travel) | 13-Week Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36–48 Hours per Week | Onsite | Projected Start: July 20, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 4-bed Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) serving adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical conditions requiring critical care
- Perform and interpret complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring in support of post-operative recovery
- Deliver care in an 8-bed cardiac stepdown unit (CSU) focused on recovery following cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery
- Demonstrate high levels of professional competency and apply a patient-centered approach to care
- Work holidays as required and every other weekend
- Float to other units and facilities as needed
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
- Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
- Current AHA NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR; solid navy scrubs required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- AHA PALS certification (required if assigned to a pediatric unit)
- Experience floating across multiple units or hospital settings
