Night Shift Travelers - SICU

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) during night shifts
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to emergencies
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records
• Maintain strict compliance with hospital policies and protocols

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience, including Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or Transplant ICU
• Valid Ohio license or compact license in hand at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH certification required
• Proficiency in Epic electronic health records system
• Experience with medication systems such as Pyxis, Accudose, or Omnicell
• Strong communication skills, with ability to utilize SBAR reporting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating between different ICU units
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Knowledge of Ohio healthcare regulations and compliance

Travel Compliance

All candidates must complete fingerprinting in Ohio prior to start date by Tuesday to ensure compliance. Response or cooperation delays may result in assignment push or cancellation. Only submit candidates who are within driving distance for immediate fingerprinting; remote candidates will be mailed fingerprints for quick completion.

Additional Notes

• Shifts are nights, 12 hours each, three times per week
• Travel expenses and arrangements handled by the staffing agency
• RTO (Request for Time Off) required with submission and must be built into the contract
• References: Two professional references required; at least one from a supervisor or manager
• No current employees eligible unless they have been away from the facility for over six months
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
