Contract | Full-Time | Day Shift | Onsite | 8-Hour Days, 36–40 Hours per Week | Start Time between 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during GI and endoscopy procedures in a fast-paced procedural environment
- Perform patient admission, procedural support, and recovery care including moderate sedation administration
- Manage a high-volume caseload of approximately 30–60 cases per day
- Operate and assist with Olympus scopes and a variety of endoscopy supplies and equipment
- Monitor and assess patients pre- and post-procedure, including EKG evaluation
- May be required to float to additional facilities within the health system
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of GI Lab, Endoscopy, or PACU experience; admission and recovery experience required
- Current CPR and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
- Must pass an EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to starting
- Minimum background in Med/Surg Telemetry; GI or pre/post-op experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong procedural nursing background with direct GI Lab and endoscopy experience highly preferred
- Experience with moderate sedation in a procedural setting
- Familiarity with Olympus scopes and common endoscopy equipment manufacturers
