Contract | Travel | Full-Time | 13-Week Assignment | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call Requirement
Key Responsibilities
- Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients on a Cardiac and Telemetry unit.
- Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Telemetry or related nursing specialty.
- Ability to manage a patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Prior experience in a Cardiac or Telemetry setting (note: this is not a Stepdown unit).
