Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned telemetry patients.
- Manage and monitor cardiac drips according to established protocols; does not include titration.
- Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty.
- Ability to float to other units when needed.
- Availability to work 3 weekends per 6-week schedule; no on-call requirement.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience caring for patients with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, or med-surg overflow populations.
- Familiarity with cardiac drip management in a telemetry setting.
