Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive telemetry nursing care to cardiac and stroke patients.
• Monitor patients with pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, and post-cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone, ensuring patient stability.
• Respond to urgent changes in patient conditions, including unstable angina, CHF, dysrhythmias, and post-stroke care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, efficient care in a fast-paced unit.
• Manage patient documentation and medication administration using Pyxis, Dimensions (EPIC), and SBAR communication tools.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or a Compact state.
• Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIH.
• Experience with IV Starts, telemetry monitoring, and post-procedure patient care.
• Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with fluctuating patient ratios up to 6-8 patients on surge.
• Willingness to accept first-time travelers and flexibility for float assignments.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience managing multiple cardiac drips and complex patient conditions.
• Familiarity with COVID-positive patient management, including the use of opti-flow and Bipap.
• Ability to adapt to rapid patient turnover and unit procedures.

• No block scheduling; self-scheduling with oversight.
• Orientation: 36 hours, available every day during week one.
• RTO: Up to 7 days (no holidays), with pre-approval.
• Float requirements, weekend coverage, and holiday rotations apply.
• Travel candidates must complete required testing within 48 hours of signing and be flexible for floating within the facility.
