Registered Nurse – ICU Float Pool

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts) | Onsite | Weekend availability required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an ICU float pool capacity, rotating across ICU, medical/surgical, telemetry, PCU, stepdown, and overflow units as needed
- Float to Overflow PACU and other assigned units based on census and staffing needs
- Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including those requiring pulmonary artery (PA) line management
- Perform EKG interpretation; candidates must pass an EKG exam administered on the first day of orientation
- Maintain flexibility with scheduling, including weekends, with no scheduling requests accommodated
Required Qualifications
- Active, permanent California RN license in hand at time of submission (temporary or pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- PA line experience required — candidates without this experience will not be considered
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
- Experience in a large hospital setting (400+ bed facility required)
- Two supervisory references (charge RN or above) from within the past year required at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience, though first-time travelers with qualifying large-facility backgrounds will be considered
- Demonstrated ability to float across multiple unit types including telemetry, PCU, and stepdown environments
