Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care, determining desired outcomes in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; initiate actions to alleviate patient stress and discomfort
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including timely execution of discharge orders, discharge teaching, and coordination with Case Management
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of patient care provided by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on computer systems and clinical applications
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous clinical nursing experience, particularly in Labor and Delivery or a related setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
