Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 43-bed orthopedic unit with all private rooms, managing a patient ratio of 1:5–6 on night shifts
- Care for a wide variety of medical-surgical, post-operative orthopedic, and trauma patients with fractures
- Collaborate with charge RNs, house supervisors, and patient care technicians (PCT ratio 1:7–8) to ensure safe, quality patient outcomes
- Monitor and troubleshoot telemetry using Philips house-wide telemetry pack monitors, including CPAP and heated high-flow equipment as needed
- Float to other like medical-surgical floors as needed
- Adhere to all facility dress code standards, including a professional appearance with tattoos and piercings covered
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in post-operative surgical care and general medical-surgical nursing
- Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy
- Availability to work every other weekend (night shift: Friday and Saturday)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience in a medical-surgical or orthopedic setting
- Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
- Experience with CPAP and heated high-flow oxygen therapy
