Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit at a 320-bed acute care hospital
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage independently and without supervision
- Monitor and assess laboring patients maintaining a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Document patient care accurately using electronic health record systems
- Float to Mother Baby unit as needed to meet staffing requirements
- Participate in weekend coverage, which may exceed every other weekend based on unit need
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license in California (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1.5 years of Labor and Delivery experience; 2 or more years preferred
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (hard stop requirement)
- Current ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NRP certifications
- Demonstrated ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and triage independently
- Epic EMR experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating to Mother Baby or similar postpartum units
- Familiarity with Meditech charting systems
- Comfort working in a high-volume acute care Labor and Delivery environment
