Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage independently and without supervision
- Monitor and assess laboring patients, documenting care accurately using electronic health record systems
- Float to Mother Baby unit as needed to support staffing requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective maternal and neonatal outcomes
- Adhere to unit protocols, weekend scheduling requirements, and facility call-off policies
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (no pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum of 1.5 years of Labor and Delivery experience; 2+ years preferred
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (hard stop requirement)
- Current ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NRP certifications
- Demonstrated ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and triage independently
- Epic EMR experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of hands-on Labor and Delivery experience in an acute care hospital
- Experience floating to Mother Baby or similar units
- Familiarity with Meditech charting systems
