Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and document according to policy.
- Coordinate patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team.
- Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care.
- Provide clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel; float between departments and local locations within 20 miles as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Active New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- ACLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- PALS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in PACU; must pass BCA (Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias) testing during the first week of assignment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC electronic health records experience (on-site training available).
- At least one prior 13-week travel nursing assignment.
