Contract | Days | Three 12-hour shifts per week with a traditional weekday and weekend rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to critically ill and progressive care patients in a mixed-acuity unit, including those with diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia
• Initiate and titrate IV drips including vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics; care for ventilated patients and assist with intubations and line placement
• Monitor patients using Phillips heart monitors, EKG machines, dopplers, and Epic EMR; administer medications via Pyxis
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3 for ICU patients and 1:3 for progressive care patients
• Float as needed to other ICU, progressive care, and medical-surgical units while maintaining a maximum 1:3 patient ratio
• Collaborate as part of a team-oriented environment, applying critical thinking and clinical reasoning across varying patient acuity levels

Required Qualifications

• Valid Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience
• BLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• ACLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Strong background in medical patients and critical care with demonstrated ability to critically think, reason, and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 facility preferred
