Sterile Processing Technician – Surgical Services

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 5x8-Hour Shifts | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Monday–Friday with occasional holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily sterile processing operations while supporting overall department workflow.
• Coordinate the preparation, decontamination, sterilization, assembly, packaging, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Ensure all instrumentation is properly cleaned, sterilized, and functioning prior to patient use.
• Support quality initiatives, inventory management, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Mentor staff and assist with workflow coordination across the department.
• Utilize Censitrac and other documentation systems to maintain instrument tracking and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of Sterile Processing experience.
• Previous leadership or charge experience in a sterile processing setting.
• Experience in an acute care operating room environment.
• Experience processing a wide variety of surgical instrumentation.
• Active HSPA (IAHCSMM) or CBSPD Certification required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BLS certification.
• CSPD? certification.
• Additional CBSPD specialty certifications.
